Through 4-H, friendships are made. 🐷These young gentlemen all exhibited swine at the Iowa State Fair. While they are all from Cass County, they are in three different 4-H clubs in different areas of the county. They all attend different schools and grades.

There are plans in the works already for them to continue working together, making their best experience better for the Iowa State Fair swine show next year! Way to go, Hunter, Quincy, Colby and Lane! 🍀

The Iowa State University Digital Ag Innovation Lab, in collaboration with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, will host the inaugural Combine University, a new hands-on educational program designed to help operators, producers
and agricultural professionals maximize harvest performance through practical education and technology-focused learning.
The one-day program will be offered on August 24, 25 and 26, 2026 at Blomgren Seeds, 1927 250th St., Boone, Iowa 50036. Each day features the same curriculum allowing participants to choose the date that best fits their schedule.

How many Cass County 4-H Exhibits can you see along this quick trip around the building?! There are over 3,300 exhibits in the building from 4-H member across the state, 39 came from Cass County!

As we work to wrap up fair season 2026, it's time to reflect on the learning and growth we experienced this past year.
🍀4-H is more than just one week of the year. 4-H is presentations, recreation, business meetings, caring for animals, working on projects, hanging out with friends, and SO much more all year long.
🍀Take those reflections and create a record book to look back on year after year. Our record book page has been updated on the website to help you find forms. Record books will be due in Cass County to club leaders in September. The county due date for Senior (9th through 12th grade completed) record books will be Monday, October 5th.

If you've ever considered becoming a Master Gardener, now is a great time to get started! Cass and Adair County are hosting a join training class starting in late August for anyone who would like to become a Master Gardener. The class is offered in a hybrid format, with online lessons and hands-on workshops to make the course fun and engaging. No prior gardening skill required- just a desire to learn and give back to your community! You can find all the details on our website with class schedule, topics, registration details and more! The Iowa State Fair is getting a large delivery of 4-H Static Exhibits to be on display August 13-23rd. Here are some of the Cass County 4-Her's exhibits that advanced!
