We are ready for Spooky Season! 👻 I took a page out of ’s book and covered my circulation desk in printed book covers of the spooky stories that we have in our library. I also used circ desk decor kit that she has on her TPT page. Can you tell I love October?! 🎃

New year, new brand name. AND I PROMISE this is my last time rebranding! 🤣

For those of you who have been here since my Miss V’s Kinder Kraziness days, THANK YOU! What a wild ride it has been since I started this Instagram account back in 2014. From Catholic school to public school, from kindergarten to first grade and finally, elementary school librarian. This journey has been such an amazing experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world!

Now for a reintroduction to all my followers, old and new!
•K-5 Library Media Specialist since 2019. It was the best decision I made for myself, career wise.
•Former Kindergarten and first grade teacher for 13 years.
•I’ve been married to my amazing husband Jay since 2018. He has his own fan base from my IG stories over the years 🤣.
•Mama to the love of my life, Luna. She’s 2 going on THREEnager. She’s my favorite person and she blows my mind everyday as her personality develops. ❤️
•I’ve been a Swiftie since her Reputation Era 🐍🫶🏼
•I love my Kindle! It’s brought back my passion for reading this summer.
•I’m really into reading psychological thrillers and young adult novels (I have to stay in the loop being a librarian for grades 3-5).
• I watch The Office at least once a year. I’m currently near the end of season two right now. It’s good background noise when I’m reading and Luna is playing.
• I’m currently in the season of my life where going out anywhere after 8pm gives me the ick.
•I LOVE gummy candies and chocolate. It’s my absolute weakness. 🍡🍫

Shoutout to Mike for making these amazing book peekers of Buddy the Elf. Can’t wait for my students to see them this week! I attached the sign to a little bucket so when students pick a book, they can place the book peeker right inside of the bucket. Students always think they can keep the book peekers as bookmarks. Not this time, kiddos!

is my new favorite app! Thanks to TikTok, I was able to make my own back cover! I just printed it 4x6 size and popped it into my clear case cover! All the “stickers” are from a simple Google image search. Love how I can make these and switch it out as often as I want. How do you decorate YOUR kindle? 📖

(FYI: This is the Kindle 2022 release, not the paperwhite version. The pop socket and charger dust plug are from )

The Ghost’s Dinner!👻🍽️

This is one of my FAVORITE October crafts from ! I’ve made them almost every year and they always turn out amazing! The kids love the story and are always so creative when they make their own ghosts!🥰

I have used two books to introduce this craft…The Ghost’s Dinner and The Chocolate Chip Ghost!🍪

I’m still trying to figure out what to do with this “Guess the Character” board. My idea was this: choose a number on Monday and have the students write their answer on a piece of paper and draw a winner at the end of the week. The prize would be a book of their choice! Sounds good to me! Thoughts? Lemme know what you would do in the comments!

It’s my favorite time of year! 👻 Listening to “The Ghost’s Dinner” read aloud on YouTube and completing this quick & engaging writing prompt of what the ghosts ate for dinner, is a staple project in my classroom! AN OLDIE BUT GOODIE! We all know we have a classroom full of students who are feeling a slew of emotions on the first day of school. Why not discuss these feelings & let your kiddos know that it’s OKAY to feel how they feel!

Created with K-2 options, this print and go resource includes a feelings chart, a writing prompt, and a chance for your kiddos to illustrate how they really feel about their first day. I’ve also included a decorative pencil banner that you can print and hang up on your bulletin board! I know we teachers feel EXHAUSTED after the first day/week of school, so I’m hoping this helps in crossing one thing off your list, and that’s your Back To School bulletin board!

Tell me your Mom is a librarian, without telling me your Mom is a librarian...I’ll go first. 🌈📚 I bought this mini rolling cart (on Amazon) for Luna’s growing personal library. I also organized it in rainbow order by the color of the spine and placed the oversized books on top. It also comes with hooks that you use and hang things on the side. I have some soft sensory books hanging on them. I have a feeling I’ll be buying more of these carts!
