NOVEMBER IS NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH.

My Cheeks are hurting from smiling.
On October 18, 2024, my daughter, Elizabeth, will receive her Masters degree. She will receive her Masters in Education with a concentration in Special Education.
She is presently a high school teacher in the Clayton County School System.
I am so very PROUD of you Elizabeth.
Educators have a LEGACY in our family.

Mama, your Granny, would be so very proud of you.

I think that my Cheeks will be hurting for a while.

MY BIRTHDAY WEEK BEGINS TODAY, SUNDAY, 09/15/24

BOOKER T. WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL, IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA, IS CELEBRATING ITS 100TH ANNIVERSARY. The High School opened on September 1, 1924. For several years it was the ONLY High School for Atlanta's "Colored" students

My mother and four of her siblings (out of seven) attended this school. Her two eldest brothers were too old to attend the High School.
Due to Jim Crow laws in the South, many of the "public" Colored schools ended at the 5th grade.
Due to the vast number of Colored students who were age appropriate to attend High School, the school day had two sessions to be able to accommodate the students.

Today is September 1st...my Birthday month. Let the celebrations begin!!!
