Kudos to Alvin D. Owens and Nova Montana for organizing another successful college tour.

Last month, the Young And Debt-Free Education Association—the 501(c)(3) arm of Young And Debt Free—donated $1,000 to the (262) HBCU College Tour. This specific tour is one I attended personally during high school, and it provided me with invaluable exposure to a culture of excellence.

I would also like to thank the seven additional donors who contributed a combined $300 to the tour:

Meet one of our wonderful speaker and moderator MJ Bridges !

MJ is not your average financial coach; he is the comeback king with a story to prove it. MJ is a former high school math teacher who found himself on the side of the interstate with no money for fuel in January 2014.

MJ claims this was one of the best experiences of his life because it was his “Come to Jesus” moment with money. At the time, MJ was 25 years old and just like many ambitious millennials, moved to Atlanta to build a career as an entrepreneur.

However, debt was holding him hostage from financing his dreams. So, MJ eliminated $96,942 of consumer and student loan debt and started a financial literacy service called, “Young And Debt Free.” Now, MJ is on a mission to teach young people the skills he mastered such as budgeting, credit, debt elimination and understanding college costs. Let MJ show your students how to be Young And Debt Free.
