🎨 Creativity is taking shape in Walnut Grove’s inaugural Arts & Crafts class!

Students are diving into their “wax” unit, creating wax batiks and silk paintings inspired by artist and designer William Morris, while also learning the art of candle making.

A little art, a little craftsmanship, and plenty of hands-on learning! 💚🖤

A little Regency-era matchmaking in Lit 4! 💚📚

Students in Ms. Schneider, Ms. Young, and Coach Peterson’s class brought Pride and Prejudice to life with a speed dating activity! Students stepped into character and evaluated potential matches based on different aspects of life and relationships during the Regency era.

A creative way to explore the characters, culture, and social expectations of the novel!

Students explored biodiversity through hands-on activities in Mrs. Watson's class! 🌱 Using quadrat sampling, they investigated species richness and evenness and learned how scientists use random sampling to study ecosystems.

🏝️ Students also modeled island biogeography by simulating animal migration to islands, discovering how island size and distance affect species diversity.

🐸 We even had a surprise participant when a student caught a frog during our outdoor lab! Sometimes the best environmental science classroom is outside the classroom! 🌎💚
