In Nayvadius' words: "I’m nine years old and I’m in the 3rd grade at Alice Coachman Elementary. This is my second year as a CIS student. My site coordinator is Coach Noel. My parents thought a male mentor in the school would really help me. I missed a lot of school and had issues paying attention in class. Coach Noel pushed me to be a better student and helped me pass the 2nd grade. This year I have been working on being consistent with my school attendance. I think Coach Noel is cool and he makes me better." ❤️

Thank you so much to all who made gifts to Communitites In Schools of Georgia on Giving Tuesday to support students like Rashad! We appreciate you! 😍

Didn't make your gift yet? No worries. It's never too late to give: https://secure.everyaction.com/cqG2rR5zMkqcfuQ9nNnHoQ2

11/28/2023

When Rashad was referred to Communities In Schools of Georgia in Albany/Dougherty County Site Coordinator Mrs. Marlisha Lumpkin, his teachers were concerned about his attendance. Then, this October, Rashad was acknowledged as Student of The Month. Rashad said “being recognized is a big deal” because he has come a long way academically and behaviorally. Rashad’s story is truly a testament of what having a caring adult who is there providing motivation looks like. Now, his goal is to encourage his friends to become Student of The Month before the school year ends.

Support students like Rashad TODAY, NOW, on this Giving Tuesday! https://secure.everyaction.com/cqG2rR5zMkqcfuQ9nNnHoQ2

"I had the pleasure of kicking off Heritage Month on September 15th at Morgan County High School. I found out that the Latin/Hispanics are very sensitive to certain things when it comes to celebrating their Heritage because often, they are misrepresented with false information. They love to be celebrated but with facts and authenticity! I spoke with one of our Hispanic students and got her approval for the banner, the candy and the music. I set up a table in the cafeteria with Mexican candy, a Hispanic Banner and a Latino Playlist, which was all approved by some of our students. I had so many Hispanic students come to me to thank me! It was awesome." — CIS Site Coordinator Latrisha Lundy
