U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D) recently released the “Special Report on Greedflation.” This publication attempts to explain high inflation by an appeal to corporate greed, and it further proposes policies on how to deal with greed…

“Whatever an education is, it should make you a unique individual, not a conformist; it should furnish you with an original spirit with which to tackle the big challenges. It should allow you to find values which will be your road map through life; it should make you spiritually rich, a person who loves whatever you are doing, wherever you are, whomever you are with; it should teach you what is important, how to live and how to die.”

“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?”

Governmental central planning is always doomed to fail. Whether the people running the government are evil and incompetent or saintly and brilliant is irrelevant. The problem lies in central planning itself.

BREAKING:

11/08/2023

I'm about to leave home for the Atlanta airport to fly to Warsaw, Poland for official ceremonies this Saturday--at which I will be presented by the President with the highest honor Poland bestows upon a foreigner, the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland (details here: https://tinyurl.com/23yf5p38). Saturday's festivities begin with the award ceremony, followed by attending church with the President and his wife, then a changing of the guard, then an afternoon reception, then a dinner Saturday evening in my honor. I don't win stuff very often, so I'm still pinching myself over this one!

“When you buy your pencil or your daily bread, you don’t know whether the pencil was made or the wheat was grown by a white man or a black man, by a Chinese or an Indian. As a result, the price system enables people to cooperate peacefully in one phase of their life while each one goes about his own business in respect of everything else.”

Biden’s New AI Executive Order Will Harm Consumers | Benjamin Seevers 11/06/2023

“Biden's executive order will result in less investment and development in AI. This technology, which has taken years to be developed into a commercializable product, is now being stamped down by the government. To think that this will ‘harness the benefits of AI’ as the Biden administration claims is a joke.”

Unpopular Truths Need to Be Told | Dan Sanchez 11/06/2023

“Is it an unpleasant truth? Tell it anyway. People-pleasing and people-helping are often at odds.

Is it an unpopular opinion? Express it anyway, assuming it is your honest opinion and your urge to offer it comes from a good place.”

Unpopular Truths Need to Be Told | Dan Sanchez When people all around you have been whipped up by deceiving demagogues into woke manias, public health hysterias, planet panics, war fevers, and socialist scrambles for legal loot, it can be tempting to keep your head down, to dissimulate, and to “go along to get along." But to acquiesce to lies ...

"If the bulk of the public were really convinced of the illegitimacy of the State, if it were convinced that the State is nothing more nor less than a bandit gang writ large, then the State would soon collapse to take on no more status or breadth of existence than another Mafia gang."
