For more than 50 years, the Emory National Debate Institute has been offering high quality summer debate instruction for students of all levels of experience. Taught by the staff of the very successful Barkley Forum of Emory University (Emory's debate team) and other highly qualified staff, the ENDI prepares students to take their debate skills to the next level.

Last day of the ENDI for our fundamentals students! These students crushed it this week while learning about debate, deliberation, and dialogue and finished strong with their first debate tournament. Thanks for spending this week with us!

Policy students are learning about economic inequality from ENDI staff member and Woodward Academy Director of Debate Maggie Berthiaume. Next year high school students will be debating the resolution: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase fiscal redistribution in the United States by adopting a federal jobs guarantee, expanding Social Security, and/or providing a basic income.

2-week students enjoyed some fun selectives after dinner. They spent some time painting and played trivia!!
Today was the 2nd week Fundamentals students’ first day!! And they are off to a great start giving speeches already! 2-week students continue to work on their skills by giving practice speeches and doing speaking drills.
Practice debate rounds have begun! It is the first time for all of these students to have a full debate on the topic they will be debating for the next academic year and some of their first policy debate round ever. Way to go, debaters!
Fundamentals students celebrated their last day with a final debate round. After a week of learning, preparing, and hard work they had a great debate!
2 week students enjoyed their afternoon break in the sunshine relaxing and playing games.
