Many congratulations to our co-founder and GSU affiliate director Dr. Justin Robinson for being selected as one of the AAS Shapley Visiting Lecturers of 2026

The American Astronomical Society has selected 21 astronomers who will form the 2026 cohort of AAS Shapley Visiting Lecturers. These lecturers will visit a number of schools and community institutions across the US to share their science, inspire wonder about the universe, and build lasting connections to these communities. https://ow.ly/biaG50YsZwv

Next Cosmic Conversations is in three days!!!

A little introduction to our guest speaker Aman Kar!

Aman is originally from India where he finished high school. Before GSU, he did his undergraduate in Wyoming where he realized four things: he really likes the outdoors and mountains and he really doesn’t like the cold and the lack of people. This is why he enjoys Georgia.

Another fun fact is he really loves solar eclipses because it allows us to timestamp historical events for which we have no time record
