Teachers are a special type of person. This summer, many teachers you know aren't on a beach, they're in a classroom getting even better at what they do. We teach because:
- Good education should be a given.
- We are the bridge to success for every generation.
- Not everyone starts out a teacher, but everyone has a lesson to share, and
- We’re needed now more than ever. And so are you.
At GSU, we understand this. WE SEE YOU.

Our own Yemimah King, PhD recently gave the keynote presentation, “Shaping Learning Environments: Where Language, Math and Leadership Connect,” at the Cognia Early Learning Institute, encouraging educators to incorporate math words into everyday play conversations. She called these examples of “everyday math language moments” — building blocks for mathematical proficiency.

Our ECEE teachers and programs create safe, nurturing spaces focused on the WHOLE student. We understand that there's so much going on in and outside of the classroom, sometimes you just need someone to be there for you like Dr. Katie Kurumada.
Dr. Kurumada is kind, encouraging and an outstanding educator. She also is the program coordinator of our Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education program. She could be YOUR teacher--we welcome you! https://t.gsu.edu/49gdiSy
