Thomaston Upward Bound/ UB Math Science

Thomaston Upward Bound/ UB Math Science Upward Bound Classic is a federally funded TRiO program which prepares 9th-12th grade students in Thomaston-Upson County Schools for postsecondary education.

The Thomaston Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science program assists Upson-Lee High School students to graduate from high school and enter into the college of their choice. Background

Upward Bound is designed to provide academic advisement, cultural and educational experiences for its students, enabling them to develop the skills, attitudes and motivation necessary to enter and succeed in col

lege. Upward Bound provides intensive academic support services for income-eligible students to enhance the pursuit and achievement of a post-secondary education. It provides academic enrichment in English, Mathematics, Foreign Languages and Science. The program currently serves 53 students from Upson-Lee High School. Upward Bound is supported through the U.S. Department of Education and Atlanta Metropolitan State College.

Students attending the Fall Retreat will meet at Matthews Field at 8:30am on Tuesday. We will depart promptly at 9am. You will need to limit your bags to one bag and be sure to bring your Blue and Camouflage TRIO shirts. Do not forget sneakers/tennis shoes for Thursday.
