Georgia Tech Leadership Education and Development

GT Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) gives students the opportunity to learn and practice effective leadership skills.

Leadership takes place at all levels on the Georgia Tech campus — it’s not just for those in formal leadership positions. The Student Affairs’ Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) office gives participating students the opportunity to learn and practice effective leadership skills that can be applied to all areas of their personal and professional lives, now and in the future. The LEAD offi

ce offers a thoughtful and intentional series of academic, experiential, and co-curricular activities to help students prepare for leadership in a rapidly evolving global society. LEAD programs, which include everything from one-on-one leadership coaching to living-learning communities, are designed to help students:
• Gain valuable insights into leadership potential
• Improve communication skills
• Learn how to get projects done in teams
• Understand what it takes to create change and inspire others
• Chart a leadership development pathway to real results within Georgia Tech and beyond

The LEAD Fellows, alongside a few friends, learned some valuable lessons last week around the importance of meeting individuals where they are at, building effective collaboration skills, and encouraging one another through difficult challenges. Thanks to all the amazing staff at the GT Leadership Challenge Course! We will be back again soon.

An exhilarating experience that evoked confidence and wild fun! And some leadership lessons along the way. Summer iGniTe, LEAD and Rolling Thunder partnered together to help students learn more about building cohesive teams - Optimize your team (know who is in your boat), trust your team members (you will need them when the unexpected happens), develop a solid strategy, and communicate clearly and frequently.

ATTN ALL GT STUDENTS: Got an idea to improve life at Georgia Tech? Submit your idea for the Teams for Tech Impact-A-Thon, taking place this Sunday. October 1st from 10am-4pm at the Instructional Center! Teams for Tech is a fellowship program comprised of undergraduate and graduate student teams who work on a product, service or venture concept to enhance life at Georgia Tech. As part of Teams for Tech, fellows receive funding, coaching and access to campus stakeholders to turn their idea into reality!
To become a Teams for Tech fellow, individuals or teams must come up with an idea to enhance life at Georgia Tech and take part in the Impact-A-Thon. The Impact-A-Thon is a fun ideation event where participants create, develop, and pitch their idea in front of stakeholders from the Georgia Tech community. The Impact-A-Thon offers participants direct access to campus representatives, support from Teams for Tech coaches and free lunch!
