Congrats to Senior Honor Student, Nat Long!

Each fall, an outstanding senior from each of the four-year degree-granting institutions of higher learning in Illinois is awarded the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award and thereby becomes a Student Laureate of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois. In the spirit of Lincoln, student laureates are honored for their leadership and service in the pursuit of the betterment of humanity and overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.

This year we'd like to congratulate Nat Long, a theatre and biology major, who was honored as Millikin University's recipient of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois' Student Laureate Award for 2021!

So proud of our James Millikin Scholar, Katherine Viviano!

Congratulations to Millikin University - School of Theatre and Dance senior Katherine "Viv" Viviano and all those involved with the Big Blue R***e on Saturday night!

Viv chose to focus her James Millikin Scholar project on producing a variety show to be presented as a fundraiser for the new Center for Theatre and Dance. Through her efforts and the many talents of current students, faculty and alumni, the Big Blue R***e raised $20,270 for the new building! The next day, a friend of the university impressed with the success of the Big Blue R***e, pledged an additional $10,000, raising the total to $30,270!

SHAC and some other members of the honors program are having a great time in Atlanta at the NCHC conference. In a few hours, Alissa Kanturek will be presenting with Doctor Hartsock! Exciting!

The honors program had a trip to the orchard/pumpkin patch AND Portillo’s today! So much fun!
