Organizers call end to teacher hunger strike Organizers say they achieved their goal with politicians' commitment to full funding for Georgia schools.
Amazing News! We have decided to end our hunger strike on Monday after successfully receiving pledges from both candidates that they will fully fund Georgia schools for the next four years. All of the teachers are happy and healthy, and our movement has been a success. It took us 16 years to get here, and now we know for the next four years our schools will be fully funded. We will remain vigilant and make sure both candidates, if elected, fulfill this promise. We are excited to host a teacher meet and greet on Saturday at Orpheus Brewery, and Victory press conference on Monday.

This is amazing! TODAY, over 30 new educators and parents have signed up for the 14 days of activism in Georgia. Hungry for Education has been all over the place: NPR, FOX 5, WSB, 11Alive, AJC, and NBC Radio. This is happening! We are missing one thing, WE NEED YOU! We have a big media story coming tomorrow, and want to brag about the numbers of teachers involved!
