Our African-centered independent school is dedicated to providing an enriching educational experience that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit of our students. Hey everyone! 🎉 We learned about Greek mythology and celebrated Greek God/Goddess day at Imhotep Academy! It was a blast! Our staff and students dressed up as their favorite mythological figures and the school was filled with excitement and energy all day long.

We saw some amazing costumes, including a stunning Athena, a fierce Ares, and a beautiful Aphrodite. We also saw Zeus, Hera, and Poseidon.

Overall, it was a great day filled with creativity, fun, and learning. We can't wait to see what our next themed day will be!

🌳🌎 Our Kindergarteners planted a beautiful tree as part of their Earth Day project! They had a blast getting their hands dirty and learning about the importance of taking care of our planet. We hope this tree will grow big and strong, and remind us all of the small steps we can take to make a big impact. Thank you to our amazing teachers and staff for making this possible!

📚🎉 At Imhotep Academy, we are proud to celebrate black authors and their amazing contributions to children's literature. We had a special treat as our very own 1st grade student, Ishaq, shared his book series "The Great Adventures of Ishaq & Kadeedee" with us. It's incredible to see such creativity and talent in our young students!

A big thank you to Ishaq's grandmother for reading to all of the grades and sharing her love of reading with us. Let's continue to uplift and support black voices in literature all year round!

"We had an amazing time celebrating Black Children's Book Week! Every day we featured a different author and it was so inspiring to see representation in literature. We kicked off the week with Mama Koku sharing folklore and storytelling. It was an incredible experience and we can't wait to continue supporting and promoting diverse authors and their stories. "

🐢🥚 It's not every day that you get to witness nature in action! Our students had the incredible opportunity to watch a turtle laying an egg. At Imhotep, we believe in the importance of connecting with and respecting the natural world around us. What a beautiful moment to witness! 🌱🌍

After twenty-nine years as a privately owned business, we have transitioned to a nonprofit organization, and we couldn't be more excited to have Hassan Smith leading our Board of Trustees. The Imhotep Academy Techno Warriors Robotics team does it again! In the first round competition our Ultimate Students scored 1st Place, taking home their first trophy for the 2022-23 First Lego League competition. They advanced to round two and won 1st place for best project innovation and 1st place for best robot performance! Thank you PLUS-side Learning (Dachele Miller) and alumnus coach Melvin Miller for preparing this amazing group. We look forward to more amazing wins!!
