WE'RE HEADED TO ESSENCE FESTIVAL 2026! 🎨✨

Some dreams take years of showing up, doing the work, and trusting the process.

I'm beyond excited to share that Brushed Studios has officially been selected as a vendor at the world-renowned ESSENCE Festival of Culture in New Orleans for the very first time!

For years, I've attended Essence in different capacities—sometimes as a guest, sometimes participating in events around the city, soaking in the culture, inspiration, and energy that make this festival so special. To now be attending as an official vendor feels like a full-circle moment.

My team and I are working around the clock preparing for this opportunity. We're bringing:

This season is stretching me in the most beautiful ways, and I’m feeling incredibly grateful. We’ve got some exciting stops ahead, and I’d love for you to come see us out in the field, say hello, and experience the art in person.

In times that can feel heavy and uncertain, I’m learning that cultivating joy and love is intentional work. One of my favorite parts of this journey isn’t even the art itself — it’s the people. The random conversations. The laughter. The stories people share. The moments where strangers become familiar faces. The reminders that human connection still matters.

It truly does my heart good to meet people from all walks of life and hear what moves them, what inspires them, and what they carry with them. Art has a way of opening doors that words sometimes can’t.

🎹 Paint with me.

Rainy Monday morning in Georgia… I needed a palette cleanser, so I painted my art “blues.”

This piece feels like a bridge between the past and the future—melodies, memories, and motion all layered together on canvas. I created it while listening to an artist who has my ear lately, letting the music guide every stroke.

Now back to prepping for New York. 🗽

Brushed Studios X Spelman College!

We’re excited to share a special collaboration between Brushed Studios and Spelman College— and we’re looking for the next generation of young artists to be part of it.

🎨 Heritage in Bloom – Student Artist Application is now open. Deadline: March 1, 2026.

We are selecting 10 high school girls to collaborate on a powerful art installation that will be created inside our professional studio and exhibited publicly at Spelman College in the new Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation & the Arts.

This is more than an art project — it’s a chance to:
✨ Create in a real working studio
✨ Learn from artists and creatives
✨ Be part of a monumental collaborative artwork
✨ Have your work featured in a prestigious public exhibition

All artistic levels are welcome.
No prior art experience needed — curiosity, creativity, and voice matter most.

📅 Studio Session: Saturday, March 14 | 10 AM – 3 PM
🍽 Lunch will be provided

Selected students will also be invited to attend a special unveiling reception at Spelman College later this spring.
