Wealthy Habits is a non-profit program that offers interactive, fun classes that teach children ages 11-18 about budgeting, saving, investing, credit accountability, and long-term financial planning. Many of these basic concepts are not currently discussed within schools, and the Wealthy Habits program can potentially have a huge impact on the financial outlook of a child!

Homework, extracurriculars, early mornings, fall gets busy fast. It is easy for financial conversations to get pushed to the back burner when the school year hits full speed. But here is the thing: the school year is actually one of the best times to build money habits. Routines are back, schedules are set, and kids are already in learning mode. 🎒

You do not need extra time! You need the right moments. Try attaching one small money conversation to something you already do:
Grocery run? Let your child compare prices and help you decide. 🛒
Weekly allowance or chores? Make the handoff a two-minute check-in on their savings goal. 🧹
Sunday prep? Spend five minutes reviewing what the family is spending money on that week. 🍳

Financial literacy does not have to compete with a packed school schedule. It just has to fit inside it. 👉 Follow Wealthy Habits for more tips and fall programming updates!

Squeezing in one last trip before school starts? Vacation doesn't have to break the bank. Sit down with your child and make a plan for which experiences you want to splurge and save on. Maybe you want to go to an amusement park, but you can save money by packing a lunch. At Wealthy Habits, we teach students how to save responsibly so there's money left over for the fun stuff! 🏖️

This Week's Money Tip: Assign your student one activity on the itinerary to plan. Ask them to figure out how much it will cost, anticipate what additional costs might arise, and how to get tickets. Once they're done, you can go over the plan together! ✈️
