Last night was a special full circle moment for Galloway Fine Arts. We welcomed back alumni from the original 1999 cast of Into the Woods to experience this year’s production.

They spent time catching up in the Next Stage, formerly the Multipurpose Room, took a backstage tour, and even found the original wood panel signed during their time in the show.

Before they left, they added messages of their own to the Next Stage floor ahead of its upcoming renovation. Such a sweet way to honor the memories made in that space!

Registration for The Galloway Run: 5K and One-Mile Fun Run is now open!

Presented by OOFOS Recovery Footwear, The Galloway Run is inspired by our founder, Elliott Galloway, who believed deeply in the connection of the mind, body, and spirit. He envisioned a school where students would grow not only academically, but physically and personally as well. This race is not only in his memory, but also the memory of his son, Jeff Galloway.

Join us on April 25, 2026 for a 5K race, a one-mile fun run, a virtual race for our alumni and friends who don’t live in Atlanta, games, prizes, music, and activities for all ages. It is more than a race; it’s a celebration of the strength and spirit of our school community.

All proceeds from The Galloway Run support the Galloway Fund, which provides essential resources that enhance every student’s experience. The Galloway Fund supports academic programs, arts and athletics, faculty professional growth, student wellness, financial assistance, and innovative learning opportunities across all grade levels.

Thank you to Mr. Mathis and the alumni community who came out to celebrate The Lost World: The Art of Minnie Evans at the High Museum!

Gordon talked about Minnie’s life, providing historical context for how she came to the art world and discussing the concepts of “visions” and art as a compulsive act. After the chat, attendees were able to view the exhibit!

Meet Lindsey Smith, class of 2019!

Lindsey came to Galloway for Upper Learning in 2015. From the moment she arrived, she knew Galloway was a special place where she would form lifelong friendships.

During her time at Galloway, Lindsey was a varsity cross country and track runner all four years. In track, she competed in the 2-mile, 1-mile, and 4x800-meter relay events, and she served as cross country captain her senior year. She was also heavily involved in the Fine Arts program, taking as many art classes as possible and participating in the Galloway x High Museum of Art student showcase all four years. As a senior, she served as a student ambassador. Lindsey and her friends also founded the History Club and successfully convinced the school to purchase an antique butter churn for Butter Day.

Lindsey earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgia Tech in 2023 and now works in Equipment Yield at Norfolk Southern. She is looking forward to attending the High Museum event with Mr. Mathis this spring.

We had the pleasure of welcoming back ’09 alum Anil Sarda to campus for a special talk on international affairs and careers in public service!

After graduating from Galloway, Anil went on to study international business at George Washington University before joining the U.S. Foreign Service in 2021. Since then, he has served as a U.S. Diplomat and Economic Officer at embassies in Panama and Pakistan and now works for The Alliance for American Leadership, a nonpartisan coalition working to strengthen foreign assistance and restore American leadership on the world stage.

Students had the opportunity to learn about diplomacy, development, and careers in public service and foreign affairs. Rachel Cole ’09 and Jasmyn Turner ’09 were also in attendance to support and reconnect with our community!
