From an empty classroom in May to this in August. 🥹✨

After 8 years in third grade, I’m officially starting a new chapter in fifth—and while there’s still plenty I want to add and change, I’m so happy with how it’s coming together. 💛

The classroom reveal is just the beginning… now it’s time to see what life in fifth grade is really like. 🍎

Year 19 is officially underway! 🍎✨

A new grade, a new team, a new classroom, and so many new faces—but the same excitement for another year of learning, growing, and making memories. 💛

The first day was full of smiles, a few nerves, and the reminder that the best is yet to come!

👇 Tell me one word you’d use to describe YOUR first day!

After eight years in third grade, I thought I was simply moving classrooms.

What I didn’t expect was how much it would feel like starting over.

New curriculum.
New routines.
New expectations.
New teammates.
Even simple things have me second-guessing myself.

It’s humbling… but it’s also reminded me what every new teacher feels.

The best part? Growth usually starts right outside our comfort zone.

Here’s to learning, growing, and embracing Year 19 with a beginner’s mindset. 💛

Have you ever changed grade levels? Tell me what grade you left and where you ended up—I want to hear your story. 👇

It’s not perfect, and I still have a list of things I’d love to add and change… but here’s my fifth-grade classroom reveal. 💛🍎

More important than having a “finished” classroom was filling it with students today.

We had an amazing first day, lots of smiles, and the kind of moments that reminded me why I love teaching. At the end of the day, that’s what makes a classroom complete.

Here’s to Year 19, new beginnings, and making this space feel like home for my fifth graders.

The best is yet to come. ✨

💛 What’s your favorite part of the classroom? Let me know in the comments! 👇

A little creativity goes a long way. 🎈🍎

This DIY pencil balloon column was one of my favorite touches for Meet the Teacher. It instantly made the classroom feel fun, welcoming, and full of excitement before students even walked through the door.

Sometimes it’s the little details that help create those big first impressions. 💛

These STEM Bins from Hand2Mind are going to be one of the most-used resources in my classroom this year! 💛

I love having hands-on activities ready for soft starts, indoor recess, early finishers, and brain breaks. They keep students engaged, encourage creativity and problem-solving, and make those transition times so much easier.

It’s one of those resources I know my students will reach for again and again. 🍎

Teacher Tip 15: The best $14 I’ve spent on my classroom? 💛🍎

Not because it was cute… because it saved me so much time.

Instead of printing, cutting, laminating, and arranging bulletin board letters, I had a finished display in minutes. Sometimes the biggest classroom win isn’t spending less money—it’s getting your time back.

Definitely one of my favorite classroom setup hacks this year! ✨

Would this save you time too? 👇
