📊 Earlier this year, LinkedIn released its “State of Women in Leadership: Global Employment Trends in 2026 report” and the findings are a reminder of how much work remains.

Women make up 44% of the global workforce, yet hold just 31% of leadership roles worldwide. Progress has slowed, with representation increasing by only 0.1 percentage points over the past year.

The biggest barriers continue to occur at key career transitions, particularly moving into management and advancing from VP to C-suite roles. Even highly educated women face significant leadership gaps despite strong workforce representation.
