Big milestones start early. đâ¨
Last week, we were proud to celebrate 5th-grade moving-on day at G. W. Northcutt Elementary School (Clayton County Public Schools), recognizing students as they prepare to take their next step into middle school.
These students are part of the CIS Atlanta program at Northcutt, and are supported by Andre Malone, CIS Atlanta Site Coordinator, who shows up consistently to build relationships and support students through key moments of growth.
At Communities In Schools of Atlanta, we believe transitions matterâand weâre honored to walk alongside students as they grow, progress, and move forward with confidence. đ

"Celebrating growth, resilience, and the power of relationships. đâ¨
This past week, we celebrated 8th grade graduation at Sylvan Hills Middle School (Atlanta Public Schools)âa milestone moment for students who have grown in confidence, leadership, and determination.
As CIS Atlanta Site Coordinator Kamilah Alexandre shared the relationships built this year have been a true reflection of the work we do at Communities In Schools:
âThese students trusted me to support them not only personally, but throughout their journey toward growth and success. Watching them exceed their goals in attendance, behavior, and academics has been incredibly rewarding.â
đ Weâre so proud of Jayla, Paris, Kyasia, Jazmyne, and Elyse, and grateful to be part of their journey as they prepare for whatâs next.
Moments like this remind us why being present mattersâevery single day. â¤ď¸

Weâre incredibly proud to celebrate Litzy Sanchez, one of CIS Atlantaâs allâstar students, who was recently selected as a 2026 QuestBridge College Prep Scholar.
đŤ As Litzy enters her senior year, this recognition opens the door for her to compete for full fourâyear scholarships to some of the nationâs most selective colleges and universities through QuestBridgeâs National College Match program.
Many in our community know Litzy not only for her academic excellence, but for her leadershipâincluding serving as a student emcee at this yearâs Choose Success Gala, where she shared her story and the impact of CIS with philanthropic and business leaders.
đ Litzyâs journey is a powerful reminder of whatâs possible when students are surrounded with the right support, encouragement, and opportunity. We are so proud of you and excited for all thatâs ahead.

From CIS alum to Georgia Tech graduate. đđ
Weâre celebrating Justin Ayiih, a proud CIS Atlanta alum, who graduated from Georgia Tech on May 7 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Justinâs journey reflects whatâs possible when students are supported, believed in, and given the space to grow. As the first person in his immediate family to earn a college degree, this milestone represents years of hard work, perseverance, and community support. đ
Justin is also part of the CIS Atlanta family todayâworking with us as a partâtime IT Technician since 2024âand weâre excited to share that heâll be continuing his journey this summer as a Data Analyst Intern with the Betty & Davis Fitzgerald Foundation through Partnership for Innovation.
đ Weâre incredibly proud of you, Justin. Your story is exactly why we do this work.

Showing up for leadership, dialogue, and our alumni.
Communities In Schools of Atlanta was proud to serve as an event sponsor for The Atlanta Press Club Newsmaker Leadership Event, where our President & CEO, Frank Brown, delivered opening remarks to a soldâout audience, highlighting the impact of our work across Atlanta.
We were also honored to attend alongside CIS Atlanta staff, board member Denise Bethea, PMP, and CIS alumni Todd Poe Jr. and MiâQyra Galimoreârising juniors at Morehouse College and Clayton State University and emerging leaders who continue to represent the very best of our alumni community.

Two weeks ago, Communities In Schools of Atlanta proudly celebrated 110 graduating seniors during our annual IGNITE Alumni Induction Ceremony as they officially joined the CIS of Atlanta Alumni Association.
This incredible group of students earned nearly 400 college acceptances and more than $1.8 million in scholarship offers. As they take their next steps, 96 students will attend college, 4 students will enter the workforce, and 10 students will proudly serve in the military.
