Fulbright Teacher Exchange- Ghana Cohort 2023-2024

11/07/2025

Recently I got the opportunity to be a facilitator for one session of this year’s Fulbright TGC cohort. Such an honor to get to know another group of amazing educators in the country and shared with them one of my global education artifacts as well as some resources for elementary toolkits.

Water Access Around the World 03/04/2025

Hello everyone! As the third graders in my school will start new EL module on water access around the world next week, I would like to collect pictures of how water is used and accessed in different areas of the world. It would be great if you could help me add pictures to the file/Google slides so I can show it to my students when we launch the module. Any pictures relating to water with some caption (such as name of town/city and/or country) would be good.
Thank you so much and I highly appreciate your support, either adding picture and/or spreading the word by sharing the file.

In the custom-made dress from Ghana, I presented an insightful session on global citizenship and global competency 🤩 This is the first event of the training series I had during my recent visit to Vietnam. It’s great to share my Fulbright TGC experience with an amazing audience of students, teachers, educators, and parents. I’m so glad to hear that both parents and students themselves are very keen on learning how to be a global citizen!

Below is the review from one educator attending the workshop:

GLOBAL STARTS FROM LOCAL⁉️⁉️⁉️
👉 When we think of Global Citizens, we often imagine individuals who live and work in various countries, possessing the ability to understand and effectively interact in a diverse and interconnected world. They may hold one or multiple nationalities and frequently move, work, or reside outside their home country.

🌎 However, being a global citizen is not just about understanding the world; it’s also about acting responsibly within your local community. Becoming a global citizen doesn’t necessarily start with grand gestures—it begins with small actions in your own locality.

🌎 Learning to sort waste, participating in volunteer activities, or respecting cultural diversity within your community are meaningful first steps. These actions not only enhance personal awareness but also spread positive values to others. Every small action in your local area contributes to building a more sustainable and peaceful world.

🌎 Moreover, protecting the environment, preserving culture, and supporting education in your local community are ways for a global citizen to connect the past, present, and future. From this connection to their homeland, they build a solid foundation to address global issues.

🌎 Global citizenship is not just a concept; it’s a journey that starts with awareness and responsibility in the place where you live. It can be inspired by small, everyday things like a name, a dish, or a cultural tradition from your hometown or any country in the world.

🌎 Most importantly, being a global citizen doesn’t mean you have to travel extensively. Even if you stay in one place, your knowledge, sense of responsibility, cultural harmony, and adaptability in a constantly changing, multicultural world make you a true global citizen.

💓 Thank you, dear Hong Dinh, for your valuable insights shared with so many teachers and parents in this era of educational integration and development.

Her review was so good that I want to share. Reading this made me feel like I’m in the right track of changing the mindset of global education- one person at a time 🤩

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Hanoi 🤩
🎄The first picture is Hanoi Cathedral, also known as St. Joseph's Cathedral or Nhà Thờ Lớn Hà Nội in Vietnamese, is one of the oldest and most iconic Roman Catholic churches in Vietnam. Located in the heart of Hanoi, near Hoàn Kiếm Lake, it was built in 1886 during the French colonial period. Its neo-Gothic architectural style was inspired by Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, featuring tall twin bell towers, intricate stained-glass windows, and a large vaulted ceiling.

The cathedral serves as a significant place of worship for the Catholic community in Hanoi and is also a popular tourist destination due to its historical and cultural significance. Surrounding the church are charming streets filled with cafes and local shops, making it a central hub for both spiritual activities and city life.

🎄The rest of the pictures are taken on Hàng Mã street, which is nicknamed as decoration street. Here you can find all kinds of decorations for any occasions, from birthday to Tết or lunar new year, from Christmas to worshiping ceremonies.
Both Hanoi Cathedral and Hàng mã street are in Hanoi Old Quarter.
