Diversity Committee Scholarship Winner

Mrs. Barbara Fleming will be retiring from our PA Program team, effective March 1, 2024. Mrs. Fleming joined Mercer in 2008 as Program Specialist for the brand new Physician Assistant program..
Mrs. Fleming’s impact within the program has been widespread with her involvement in all 17 cohorts of PA students since the beginning of the program.
Her warmth, positivity, and connection with faculty, staff, students, and alumni have been enduring.
While we are sad to announce that Mrs. Fleming is leaving for the sunny shores of Florida as of March 1, we invite you all to wish her well.
If you are able to attend, a retirement reception will be held in the PA Program on Wednesday, February 28 from 12-1. If you cannot attend, we invite you all to wish her well by sending her well wishes for her retirement. Messages can be submitted to [email protected] by Monday, February 26.

Reminder!!
You are cordially invited to attend an informal celebration to honor and celebrate Dr. Henry “Hank” Heard, Clinical Associate Professor for the Physician Assistant Program, on his upcoming retirement.
We will honor Dr. Heard in the PA Suite (McAfee Building, 2ndfloor) on Tuesday, December 5 from 12:00-1:00 PM. Please feel free to drop in anytime during the hour.
Dessert and light beverages will be served.

PA Week is almost here, and the current classes would like to have a dinner time Zoom to connect with alumni on Tuesday, October 10th at 7pm. This is a chance for the Mercer PA Program classes of 2024 and 2025 to receive a glimpse into the lives and careers of Mercer PA alum. If you are interested, please email me 2-3 sentences pertaining to your year of graduation and area(s) of medicine/clinical roles? This is so students have a chance to look into this area ahead of time and develop questions.

Physician assistant students serve clinical rotation in Kenya In June, three Mercer University physician assistant students had the unique opportunity to travel to Kisumu, Kenya, for their pediatric clinical rotation.
