This past Sunday at the Starz Nation Competition, our scholars showed up and showed out. Genesis Middle School Cheer, Genesis Elementary Cheer, Genesis Gems in Motion Dance, and Genesis primeTIME Steppers each earned 1st place, reflecting their discipline, teamwork, and commitment to excellence. These patterns often have less to do with ability and more to do with engagement. Boys tend to thrive in learning settings that are active, hands-on, and connected to real-world application. Traditional instruction often moves in the opposite direction, making it harder for many boys to stay engaged and succeed. For urban boys in particular, this gap has become a significant concern that requires intentional solutions, not assumptions about their potential.
