The Center for Mind, Brain, and Culture (CMBC) of Emory College was founded in 2007, and the first Director and Associate Director were appointed in the spring of 2008. The CMBC moved into its current facility in the Psychology and Interdisciplinary Sciences Building in 2009. The CMBC’s activities and programming have been funded primarily by a grant from the Dean of Emory College. The Center has

Congrats to one of our fantastic Undergraduate Fellows a superstar in the Emory University Program in Linguistics, Deanna Sharpe. Deanna received the 2026 Award for Excellence in Spanish and Linguistics! AND presented her research, titled “Accent and Dialect Acquisition among Children with Autism Exposed to In-Home Social Language Variation,” at the Mellon Mays Spring Research Conference on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Shout out to one of our wonderful CMBC Certificate Program students, Federico Sánchez Vargas for capturing the Outstanding Student Presentation Award for his poster on CapuchinAI at this year's American Association of Biological Anthropologist conference!! This award recognizes the important contributions students make to the field and celebrates innovative, rigorous research by emerging scholars.
