Sometimes, it only takes three steps to help someone. The Scholarship Academy visited Atlanta Mission to support the operations of their thrift stores which benefits the multiple homeless shelters and resources they provide. We are grateful for the opportunities to continually give back to our city!

Money Smarts for Teens: Preparing for Financial Independence

In‑Person at The Scholarship Academy

Set your teen up for success with the essential skills they’ll need for life after high school. Designed for teens ages 14–19, this workshop offers practical lessons on creating and managing a budget, building smart savings habits, understanding banking services, and using credit responsibly.

Hosted by The Scholarship Academy, the event also features our interactive Crunching College Cost session—helping students understand the basics of funding a college education, identify scholarship resources, and set personalized college funding goals.

The Scholarship Academy would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Prior, a Creekside High School Counselor serving 11th grade, 12th grade, Advanced Academics, and Dual Enrollment. Working with Scholarship Academy Program Assistant Jane Mosley, Mrs. Prior has been instrumental in attaining a significantly high FAFSA completion rate at Creekside High School, enabling more students to attend college and trade school at lower costs. Congratulations to Jessica Johnson, Founder and Executive Director of The Scholarship Academy and Atlanta Board of Education At-Large, Seat 9 board member, on her appointment as Chair of the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education. We also acknowledge Dr. Ken Zeff (District 3) on his selection as Vice Chair.

We extend our sincere congratulations to newly elected board members Tony Mitchell (District 2), Patreece Hutcherson (District 6), and Dr. Kaycee Brock (At-Large, Seat 8 ) as well as to re-elected Board Member Jennifer McDonald (District 4).

Welcome to our crib! The Scholarship Academy created a Pop Up Lab at Stevenson High School. This was an opportunity to meet students and staff members from the school, share scholarship resources, engage in interactive scholarship essay writing sessions, and of course get a sweet tour of the crib.
