At this week’s Atlanta Board of Education meeting, we celebrated excellence across our district! We proudly honored the Johnson STEM Activity Center for its inspiring impact, recognized our incredible Payroll Department in celebration of National Payroll Week, and celebrated the Information Technology Division for National IT Professionals Day.

A special shoutout to the South Atlanta High School Drumline for opening the meeting in grand style! 🎶 Huge thanks to the Pi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for helping make the day truly special.

🐝🌼 Hutchinson Elementary students put science into action during the Great Southeast Pollinator Census! Fourth- and fifth-grade students partnered with Trees Atlanta to observe and count pollinators visiting plants in the school's garden. By collecting real-world data for this University of Georgia-led citizen science project, students explored the important role insects play in our ecosystem while contributing to pollinator conservation efforts. Learning, discovery, and environmental stewardship all in one experience! 🌿

🥫❤️ A new resource is helping make a difference for South Atlanta High School families. Thanks to a partnership between Kroger, MUST Ministries, and South Atlanta High School, a new school-based food pantry is now open, expanding access to nutritious food and essential support for students and families. The pantry is expected to serve approximately 150 families each month, helping ensure students have what they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
