Put a fork in Sweet Potato Week. It’s done!
I know it’s strange for me to have a favorite sweet potato, but this one reminds me of the head of a famous Christmas cartoon character. I guess we’ll roast him for Christmas dinner

The garden program is rolling into another school year. See the illustration for this year's volunteer days. If you'd like to take on a bigger role, consider joining the steering committee, or helping out during teaching weeks.

Help us keep the garden growing this summer and get some exercise on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30. Contact [email protected], or just show up with your gloves and w**ding tools.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped celebrate Mother Earth today! As always, it was amazing to watch the teamwork as w**d patches transformed back into a plant-ready garden! (Most of y'all may not have realized we were part of EACA's day of service!)

The broccoli casserole doesn’t photograph well, but it tasted great, and clearly scored more thumbs up than down. Thanks to Ryan Mellick, Laura Hsiao, Kara Bastarache, Kate Sweeney, Elissa Benzie — and especially Jen Ivy and Carlen Hultgren, who are “very good at their job.” Just ask a BPA second grader!

Hi Folks, I'm a little late with this request, but we could use three or four volunteers on Friday, Jan. 27, to help with our Broccoli Week Taste Test. Here's the SignUp link: https://signup.com/go/LXrytBL

“Winter” crops can only stand so much. Luckily, we harvested a ton of broccoli before the break.

This is the best broccoli crop we’ve ever had. Pictured is the second harvest. At least this much more will be ready soon. It’s all going in the freezer until Broccoli Week in January. (Egg is for perspective!)

Hi Garden Friends, The seniors at Branan Towers are receiving a holiday laundry basket full of essentials, including laundry detergent. East Atlanta Community Association needs your help paying for 150 bottles. Please donate here, and add a comment that it's for Branan Towers: https://www.eaca.net/donate
In case you don't know, Branan is that tall building on Glenwood near Moreland, and it's home to 186 low-income seniors in 176 one-bedroom apartments. Many of these 186 neighbors need your help year-round, not just during the holidays.
The Branan Towers Necessities Closet can use donations of items or dollars. Items can be dropped off at the front desk labeled “Attention Brandon Ball.” He is the administrator of the facility.
Items most needed are:
XL unisex pull-ups
Queen sheet sets
Glucerna, Boost or Ensure in vanilla or strawberry
Prizes for the Wellness program’s activities
Online donations can be made at wesleywoods.org/donate
Donors should be sure to designate the Branan Towers Holiday Fund. The “holiday” is misleading. The donation will go to the right place.
Checks can be mailed to:
Kelli Naughton
Foundation of Wesley Woods
1817 Clifton Road NE
Atlanta, GA 30329
Note the donation is for Branan Towers Holiday Fund
Thanks for your help!
