Meet Karenga Ross
A Senior Director at Intel, leading the Datacenter AI Silicon Engineering group’s Xeon Server Engineering Ex*****on Office. With 25+ years of experience, she specialises in engineering leadership, operations, and driving innovation at scale.
She has held multiple leadership roles across Intel and previously worked at The Coca-Cola Company as a Software Engineering Manager. Karenga is passionate about building impactful technologies, fostering collaboration, and inspiring the next generation of engineers.

Congratulations to AI4OPT researcher Asal Roudbari on earning a Best Poster Award at the recent Shriners–Georgia Tech event for her collaborative work with Shriners Children’s.

The project applies AI to improve personalized risk assessment and clinical decision-making for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, with the goal of helping clinicians act faster and improving outcomes for children and families. We’re proud of this continued collaboration and its growing impact in pediatric healthcare.

AI4OPT’s Pascal Van Hentenryck recently visited Australia to share his expertise at two major events: AI: The Hope and the Hype, hosted by the Royal Society of New South Wales, and a discussion with the Electrification and Energy Systems Network at the University of New South Wales.

His talks explored how artificial intelligence and optimization are driving innovation in energy systems, infrastructure, and beyond.

AI4OPT joined HackGwinnett 5.0 at GSMST, where 170 students from 24 schools coded, collaborated, and innovated.

AI4OPT researchers from Georgia Tech made a major impact at the 2025 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Atlanta. With more than a dozen presentations, AI4OPT highlighted how artificial intelligence and optimization are driving innovation in logistics, energy, and manufacturing.

The 2025 NSF ExpandAI ARISE Meeting brought together researchers and educators from UTRGV and AI4OPT to advance research collaboration in artificial intelligence for optimization, sustainability, and education. The event featured campus tours, research presentations, and strategic discussions to strengthen long-term partnerships. AI4OPT joined peers from across the NSF AI research institutes at the 2025 Summit for AI Institutes Leadership (SAIL). The institute was represented by Jaci Bjorne, who presented during the Outreach and Communications Workshop, and by graduate researchers Asal Roudbari and Arnaud Deza, who presented posters on their AI and optimization research.
