Georgia’s new board training requirements provide boards with greater flexibility in how members complete their annual training. Board members serving in their first two years must complete 12 hours annually, while board members with more than two years of service must complete 6 hours annually.

GCSA offers three options to help your board meet the new requirements while choosing the format that works best for your members.

Rebecca Miller, an online science teacher at Georgia Connections Academy Georgia Connections Academy and Georgia Teacher of the Year finalist, recently attended NASA Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, alongside 30 educators from across the country. Miller’s experience was recently highlighted by Braselton News Today.
During the week, she participated in Moon and Mars gravity simulations and piloted the Discovery Space Shuttle. Miller said the opportunity was transformative and will influence how she teaches science and space to her students.
