Thank you to our amazing Howard School community!

We had 86 participants, including students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends, join our team for the IDA Georgia (IDA-GA) Dyslexia Dash! Whether running the 1-mile fun run or the 5K race, our community showed up in full force.

Events like this highlight our ongoing work to empower students with learning differences and break down stigmas surrounding neurodiversity. We are so proud of everyone who stepped up to run, walk, and cheer!

Caroline ’27 knows firsthand what it means to navigate the world with dyslexia. Now, she's using her experiences to help others find their voices, too!

As co-president of the international United Neurodiversity Network (UNDN) Youth Council (Dean Bragonier UNDN Youth Council) Caroline is helping elevate the voices of neurodivergent young people and advocate for greater understanding and acceptance.

At The Howard School, we empower students to embrace their learning differences, recognize their strengths and develop the confidence to advocate for themselves and others. Caroline is putting those skills into action well beyond the classroom!

Throwing it back to past Howard School Dyslexia Dash teams! 🏃‍♂️

The countdown is ON! Dyslexia Dash is THIS SATURDAY, October 17, and the forecast is looking like perfect running weather! It's not too late to register and help The Howard School claim the title of the largest team in the entire race.

Running the 5K? Walking the 1-mile? Just coming to cheer? EVERYONE is part of Team Howard! Bring your family, wear your Howard blue, and help us fill Perimeter Mall with Hawk pride!

What does an ancient Greek battle formation have to do with learning history? Quite a lot, actually! 🛡️

Our High School World History students stepped out of their seats and into the ranks of an ancient Greek army, forming a tightly packed phalanx while their teacher sounded a trumpet to simulate the signals soldiers used to coordinate their movements in battle.

Suddenly, military strategy wasn't just something students read about in a textbook. It was something they could see, hear, and experience firsthand.

At The Howard School, learning goes beyond textbooks and lectures. By incorporating movement, sound, and hands-on experiences, our teachers create multiple pathways for students to engage with complex concepts, make connections, and deepen their understanding.

Sometimes, the best way to understand history is to step right into it.

Laughter, quick thinking, and the power of improv!🎭

Middle School students at The Howard School recently welcomed Dad’s Garage back to campus for an interactive comedy and improvisation performance.

More than just a show, the event put four students alongside professional artists to showcase their creativity and confidence. Tim, a leader at Dad’s Garage, shared his personal journey with dyslexia, framing his learning difference as a "superpower" that drives creative problem-solving.

This visit is another example of how The Howard School brings its mission to life, creating opportunities for students to explore their strengths, embrace different ways of thinking, and discover new possibilities through NeuroArts.

We recognized our seniors across girls and boys cross country, coed flag football, girls volleyball, and bowling for Senior Night.

What are you good at? What do you love? What problems in the world would you like to solve? 💡

Some pretty big questions for our High School seniors!

Edwin Link, Executive Director of the Children's Museum of Atlanta, joined our seniors for a thought-provoking Lunch & Learn about discovering their purpose.

Through an interactive exercise, students explored the intersection of their strengths, passions, and the challenges they want to tackle in the world. That sweet spot just might hold the key to finding their purpose!

Sharing his own career journey, Edwin encouraged students to be courageous, embrace challenges, step into leadership, and pursue work that aligns with what matters most to them.

Our Senior Lunch & Learn series brings real-world perspectives into the classroom, encouraging students to dream big, explore possibilities, and imagine all that awaits them beyond The Howard School.

Every smile is unique! The Howard School recently welcomed the Alliance Theatre's Bernhardt Theatre for the Very Young for a special performance of "All Smiles."

Created in partnership with the Marcus Autism Center, this interactive production explored the many ways people express, share, and process emotions. The performance helped our students learn that a smile can express joy no matter how it looks.

"We know there is more than one way to tell a story, more than one way to communicate, and more than one way to shine," said Dr. Anna B. Morre, Head of School. "The Alliance Theatre’s Theatre for the Very Young brought that reality to life for our youngest learners this week as they engaged with our students. The NeuroArts Brain + Health initiative in Georgia is helping demonstrate the power of the arts in the academic development of children."

Thank you to the Alliance Theatre and Georgia Tech Uncommon Sense Lab as they partner with us to do this important work!

Celebrating humanity and the global community. 🌎✨

Senior Spanish students, with a giant boost of help from the High School community, completed a hands-on project celebrating Hispanic Heritage and global contributions!

Students selected influential figures from every Latin American country to educate our school community on who they are and how they’ve shaped our world.

From painting national flags and constructing cardboard portrait boxes to adding vibrant colors and gemstones before and after school, this was a true team effort across the High School.
