National Nonprofit Day celebrates organizations that bridge gaps where systems fall short. Few demonstrate that impact more clearly than student advocacy and educational access. 📚

​Research links educational attainment to lifetime earnings, health, and civic engagement. Yet, systemic barriers push thousands of Georgia kids out of classrooms every year.

​For 35 years, TIP’s goal has been to move quickly, connect deeply, and deliver lasting impact—working hands-on with families and schools to remove obstacles and keep students engaged.

Encouraging updates from the Georgia Department of Education's end-of-year attendance data!

Chronic absenteeism dropped to 17.7% in the 2025-2026 school year — a new post-pandemic low. Attendance among K-5 students was even stronger, with chronic absenteeism at just 13.5%.

The intentional, collaborative effort to keep kids present and engaged is working.

Georgia is showing the rest of the country what’s possible when we make access to education a top priority! 🌟

Did you know our state was one of just 6 to earn a spot in Attendance Works’ "50% Challenge" Deep Dive cohort, in recognition of Georgia’s ongoing commitment to improving student attendance?

In 2025, State School Superintendent Richard Woods committed to the challenge, pledging to reduce our chronic absenteeism rate by 50% over 5 years. Inclusion in the cohort will provide Georgia with customized coaching, strategic planning, cross-state learning opportunities, and enhanced data infrastructure support.

For 35 years, TIP has worked on the ground to dismantle barriers to school attendance. Seeing this level of statewide collaboration and national support is incredibly promising.
