This is so BIG! So it’s very fitting that I shared the moment with the BIGGEST boy I’ll see today.😆 He can’t let anyone to be famous BUT HIM.😂😂😂

To God be the glory FOREVER for ALL He is doing in my life! 🙌🏾🙏🏾🫶🏾

Sometimes I can’t believe all that has happened in the past four years but then I think about HIM and that I am indeed a BELIEVER.🙌🏾

How fitting is it that, yet again,a milestone for my business was realized at EFFECT FITNESS, the same place that I sold a Busy Book for the first time to Financial Literacy Workshops, where so many blessings have unfolded and to top it off? I was surrounding by my sisters as I saw this and that includes my trainer Lakeisha Roberts Strickland!🙌🏾🥹🫶🏾

My story as an entrepreneur has been published in a magazine, VoyageATL Magazine!🙌🏾

I’ve been “training” with God for so long. I get tired but I trust Him. I have learned to be obedient and “just lift”. I been broken down many times only to grow back stronger over time and now… I’m finally seeing results.🙌🏾

Bringing visibility to The Toddler Tutor is a gift to many and I hope my story inspires someone a push to: “TRUST GOD AND GO ON!” in the words of Ms. Kate, words I live by.🤍

One thing about me… I’m going to put up or SHUT UP so going to curriculum night was a non-negotiable act for me.
This year is my last at my baby’s school as she is a “senior” of the school… a whole eight grader.🥹

But as usual the teachers were phenomenal. I don’t know how our school gets the best talent but favor ain’t fair so…🤷🏾‍♀️

I’m more than confident that my baby will be walk in to high school confident and ready for whatever! There is so much love and brilliance around her. She’s even becoming a world traveler with her INCREDIBLE Spanish teacher, Ma. Perez… THEY ARE GOING TO PANAMA!!!!🥹🥹🥹

This evening assured me that bringing my baby to this school was the right choice. The administrators were visible and executing in every capacity, even facilitating a session in a teacher’s absence!

You can’t truly appreciate your school and its teachers unless you “get in the field” and GET INVOLVED! So get in the field yall!

You won’t ever regret investing into the education of your children.

All in all, get acquainted with everything your child will be learning and GET INTO IT! Make it fun!🫶🏾

Let me tell you something about homeschooling Semaj Prather 😂😂😂 It’s ridiculously fun and exciting because this boy is a beginning of the year “first grader” who’s reading books that are on a 2nd-3rd grade level.🙌🏾

So I had to take things up a notch.😎

To ensure that he’s engaged and addressing multiple modalities of learning, I use text dependent questions to provoke comprehension and vocabulary acquisition. 📚

He has to write his responses to the questions using all grammar rules. ⭐️

Most importantly, we discuss the story as he reads aloud. ❤️

Read Alouds are the cheat code because questioning flows easily and the illustrations provide more information about the story that can accelerate comprehension. 🫶🏾

We had a blast. 😎

Follow us along our journey for tips on how to homeschool with as little technology as possible. 💻🚫

Now we use YouTube for research sparingly but that’s really it. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Only paper, pencil, and our brains working to make learning fun over here!🫶🏾

When I met Taye Pressley at BORN TO TEACH ECE CONFERENCE, it was an INSTANT connection! We planned to collaborate on the spot over the Busy Books and I loved how excited she was to bring them to her staff.🥳

But this???😭

This is support on a completely different level. When someone shares this Early Literacy Busy Books, it’s literally the work of my hands and those of the team who helps me assemble them. Special thanks to my BOD and my MAMA!🫶🏾 So to see my good sis sharing it with someone adjacent to a school district is absolutely amazing.🙌🏾
