Moderated by Toni Simmons Henson, Founding Executive Director of the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival, the conversation featured director Daphne Wright and the cast of Since ’76 as they reflected on Dr. Holmes’s enduring impact as a playwright, director, scholar, advocate, and educator.

Meet Kendra Gibeaut '26 (B.I.S. in Acting with English Minor)!
At FMT, she found a creative community that encouraged her to grow both as an artist and as a person. The support of her professors and peers reinforced her passion for film and theatre, helping her realize that she wants to dedicate her life to storytelling. Surrounded by creativity, collaboration, and encouragement, she gained the confidence to pursue her artistic goals beyond graduation.
A self-described Pisces rising, she brings both imagination and intuition to her work. After graduation, she plans to continue honing her craft through acting classes while creating art that connects with people on a meaningful level.

We have received 100 submission, 11 hours of films from our FMT undergraduate and graduate filmmaking community!
Congratulations to all of our student filmmakers for their hard work in completing their films!
We will screen all submitted work on Monday and Tuesday, May 4th and 5th in One Park Place Theater beginning at Noon on both days, with over 3 hours of films screening each day. The screenings are free and open to the public.
The screening selection committee, composed of FMT film faculty will select a 75-minute program from the 79 FMT student films submitted, and we will announce those film selections on Wednesday May 6th. Those selected films will screen at the Rialto Center for the Arts on Friday May 8th at 7pm.
The winners will receive awards thanks to generosity of our sponsor!
