The Emory Nurse Anesthesia community showed up strong at the 2026 AANA Annual Congress in Boston! 💙💛

Faculty, alumni, and students came together not only to learn, but to support our profession, pursue continuing education, build community partnerships, engage in meaningful meetings, strengthen relationships, and help shape the future of nurse anesthesia.

Meet Katelyn, a member of Emory’s newest Nurse Anesthesia cohort! 🎉

After graduating from Mercer University in 2022, Katelyn began her nursing career in the Medical ICU before finding her true niche in the CVICU. She enjoys managing the recovery of complex open-heart surgery patients and serving as a preceptor to new nurses. Katelyn is excited to begin her CRNA journey and aspires to become a professor, educating future nurse anesthesia students.

Outside of nursing, Katelyn enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs!

Meet Ametra, a member of Emory’s newest Nurse Anesthesia cohort! 🎉

Ametra earned her Master of Nursing degree from Emory University in 2022. She began her critical care career in the Medical ICU at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and most recently worked in the Cardiovascular ICU at Emory University Hospital, preparing her for this next chapter.

Outside of nursing, Ametra enjoys reading, traveling, working out, and spending time with family, friends, and her Goldendoodle, Honey. As an Emory School of Nursing alumna, she is excited to return home to Emory and take the next step toward becoming a CRNA!

Meet Alisha, a member of Emory’s newest Nurse Anesthesia cohort! 🎉

Originally from Lawrenceville, Georgia, Alisha brings five and a half years of nursing experience. She began her career in the emergency department at a Level I trauma center in Atlanta before transitioning to the Medical-Surgical ICU. During her time in critical care, she served as Chair of the Critical Care Council, precepted new nurses, and earned her CCRN certification. She is passionate about mentoring others and helping new nurses develop the confidence to succeed.

Outside of nursing, Alisha enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends—especially during movie and game nights. She is grateful and excited to begin this next chapter as a member of Emory’s Class of 2029!

Meet Donnie, a member of Emory’s newest Nurse Anesthesia cohort! 🎉

Born in Alabama, Donnie has called Marietta home for more than a decade. He began his seven-year nursing career in psychiatric nursing on an Electroconvulsive Therapy Unit before transitioning to Grady Memorial Hospital. For the past six years, he has cared for critically ill patients and most recently served as a charge nurse in the Surgical Trauma ICU.

Before nursing, Donnie earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Criminal Justice. Outside of work, he enjoys going to the gym and spending time with his wife and two-year-old daughter. He is excited to begin this new chapter at Emory!

Meet Lina, a member of Emory’s newest Nurse Anesthesia cohort! 🎉

Born in Cali, Colombia, Lina now calls Atlanta home. After earning her BSN from Georgia State University in 2019, she built her critical care career in Emory’s MICU, Grady’s SICU, and, most recently, the Neuro ICU.

Outside of nursing, Lina enjoys spending time with family, listening to podcasts, reading, and exploring nature with her fur baby, Dona. She is deeply grateful for everyone who has supported her journey and excited to begin this next chapter at Emory!

Meet Cassidy, a member of Emory’s newest Nurse Anesthesia cohort! 🎉

Originally from Northern California near San Francisco, Cassidy earned her BSN from San Diego State University. She began her nursing career on a spinal cord injury unit before transitioning to the CVICU at a Level I trauma center. After observing an open-heart procedure in the operating room, she became fascinated by the science and art of anesthesia.

Outside of nursing, Cassidy enjoys exploring her creativity through community classes such as pottery, gardening, and jewelry making. She also teaches yoga, surfs, and loves spending time outdoors!

Originally from Marietta, Georgia, Tess has cared for patients in the Neonatal ICU, Medical ICU, and, for the past four years, the Cardiac ICU. Her passion for critical care led her to pursue her dream of becoming a CRNA at Emory.

Originally from New York, Amanda has spent the past three years working in the CSICU at Mount Sinai Hospital. During that time, she developed a strong dedication to caring for critically ill patients and a growing passion for nurse anesthesia.

Meet Noah, a member of Emory’s newest Nurse Anesthesia cohort! 🎉

Originally from Johns Creek, Georgia, Noah earned his BSN from Lenoir-Rhyne University, where he also played Division II lacrosse. After returning home, he joined the Cardiac ICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and has spent the past four years caring for critically ill pediatric patients. This experience fostered a deep love and respect for pediatric healthcare, and Noah is excited to see where his nurse anesthesia journey takes him!

Outside of nursing, Noah enjoys walking the Beltline, making specialty coffee, reading science fiction and fantasy, and spending quality time with family and friends.
