Maya Angelou was a beacon of wisdom, resilience, and inspiration. Through her poetry, memoirs, and activism, she gave voice to struggles and triumphs, empowering generations to rise above adversity. From her groundbreaking I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings to her unforgettable poem Phenomenal Woman, Maya’s words celebrated the beauty, strength, and dignity of the human spirit.
Her legacy goes beyond literature—Maya Angelou was a trailblazer in civil rights, a passionate advocate for equality, and a symbol of unyielding hope. She reminded the world that no matter how heavy the burden, the human soul can still rise. 🌟

Children prefer to play with real-life things when given a choice 💡
Over 100 years ago, when Dr. Maria Montessori developed her signature Montessori Method & Philosophy, she understood that children prefer to ‘play’ with real-life things when given a choice.
As noted in a ScienceNews article (see Comments for link), from a very young age, children crave opportunities to assist with practical life tasks, and to learn how to be productive members of their culture and society.
This mirrors Dr. Montessori’s observations that children have a natural inclination to engage with real-life materials and activities 💎 And when children are given a choice, they often prefer to use real life objects and participate in real tasks, rather than fantasy-based toys.
The Practical Life Montessori curriculum may seem simplistic in many ways 🌿, and some may overlook it, however the Practical Life curriculum is something that children in a Montessori environment start with when they near the age of 3, and it’s much of what they focus on for the first 6 months.
Activities such as How to Move a Chair, How to Pour Grain, How to Pour Water, and How to Weave a Ribbon, are all developing a child’s gross and fine motor skills, as well as fostering independence and self-confidence.
🚀 Building blocks for a bright future for certain!
