Mike Wiley, acclaimed actor and playwright, performed his one-man show “Dar He: The Story of Emmett Till” for our students, shedding light on Emmett Till’s tragic death.

UL students in theater, history, and English class were tasked to dramatize a personal or historical story, a figure from history, or a story they have learned from a family member.

Eighth-grade students in the Writing and Advocacy class will watch the performance and engage in a workshop with Mr. Wiley to frame their future visit to the Civil Rights Museum and their weeklong intensive course on courage.

Scenes from this past weekend at the Atlanta Community Food Bank! Thank you to our families who volunteered - it was a great success with more than 8,000 meals being provided to people in need. See you this weekend on campus to package meals for Rise Against Hunger, make sandwiches for The Sandwich Project, and sort food products for local food pantries.

If you have any non-perishable items, please bring them to your level buildings and drop them in the marked boxes!

Every year (over the past 5 years), 8th graders in Mr. Fallon’s science class participate in a regatta - a much anticipated boat racing event.

Each team uses math and science principles to calculate the correct measurements to ensure their boat will make it across the Chastain pool. Congrats to 5th period on a well-deserved win!🚤
