We are thrilled to announce that Barack H. Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology has been recognized as a “Beating the Odds School” by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement! We are one of 22 schools acknowledged in the DeKalb County School District! This honor highlights our academic achievement compared to other schools in Georgia with similar demographics.

Since we opened this school nine years ago, we've aimed to change the narrative for our community, and this achievement shows that our dedication and culture of high expectations are making a difference. A huge shoutout to our outstanding leadership team, amazing staff, incredible students, and supportive community partners who have been instrumental in this journey! The best is yet to come! 🥰🦅💙🎉🎈🎊🌟

This Wednesday, instead of our usual faculty meeting, we treated our amazing teachers to a special celebration in the gym! Staff members were able to stop by at least twenty tables to receive a token of love and appreciation. Thanks to our generous community partners who came together to fill swag bags with snacks, sweet treats and drinks, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, gift cards, and so many more goodies.

It was a heartwarming event to honor our staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Plus, everyone left with a delicious hot meal to take home for dinner! 🍽️

Kudos to our incredible Student Support Specialist, Ms. Lisa Thompson, for organizing such a wonderful event! At Obama Elementary, we truly love and appreciate our incredible staff! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!❤️🤍💙

We want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing bus drivers at Obama Elementary! We celebrated them with certificates of appreciation, thank you cards that had a little cash inside 💵, and a bag full of goodies last week! Your dedication and hard work ensure our students get to and from school safely every day. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and for being the first smiling face our scholars see in the morning! What an incredible day at our fifth annual PTO sponsored Obama Wall Street event! We had 35 amazing student vendors this year, including horseback riding and a petting zoo…and the best part? Most of them sold out and walked away with great profits! They earned a little spending money right before their spring break!💰This event is all about encouraging and supporting student entrepreneurship, and it's so inspiring to see their hard work pay off.
