Georgia Transfer Credits

Georgia Transfer Credits Created and maintains a website for Georgia transfer courses & credit by exams. Welcome to the GATransfer page.

The GAtracs team operates under the branding name Georgia Transfer. The GATRACS team (Georgia Transfer Articulation Cooperative Services) has developed several tools such as the College Credit Transfer Tool and the Exam to College Course Tool to make college credit transfer information more transparent and easier to access for Georgia students. By encouraging the pursuit of education to make every

college credit count toward the completion of a degree(s), Georgia students will be able to fully engage in the workforce of the state's growing economy. Our team works alongside and collaborates with Georgia’s colleges, universities, and education agencies by providing training opportunities, collaboration meetings, and an annual Georgia Transfer Student Success Workshop. Our partner agencies are the University System of Georgia (USG), Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Georgia Independent College Association (GICA), Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) / GAfutures, and Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). Through these partnerships, we are not only able to provide the College Credit Transfer Tool and the Exam to College Course Tool; the team has also developed a Data Insights Reporting Tool to provide visibility into student activity and trends for our campus partners, along with developing the Dual Enrollment Course Request process to support college/university representatives and high school counselors. Additional collaborations: National Institute of the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS), Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (GACRAO), Georgia School Counselors Association (GSCA), and Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO). 📣 Higher ed news to know: The National Resource Center for The FYE & Students in Transition at the University of South Carolina has been named the successor to the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS).

For more than two decades, NISTS played a leading role in advancing research, professional development, and national dialogue around transfer student success. That work now continues within the National Resource Center, expanding the reach of transfer-focused scholarship and practice within a broader focus on student transitions.

The transition preserves NISTS’ legacy while creating a more unified national hub for institutions and professionals supporting transfer students across higher education.
