Selah went viral in 2020 for an Instagram live session where she vented to her followers, revealing that she was ‘hurting’ due to life circumstances. She described her mother Lauryn as amazing, but extremely angry and unapproachable while growing up; Lauryn often resorted to beatings to get her point across. She also expressed that she felt stunted by her father’s absence. At the time, Lauryn and Rohan took to social media in defense of Selah, saying she had a right to her perspective. Rohan apologized and vowed to be the best dad while Lauryn said she was guilty of disciplining in anger because black children are held to different standards. (🎥: @theconversationalist)

DeKalb County Government is partnering with the DeKalb County School District and local faith leaders to GIVE AWAY 3,000 bookbags filled with school supplies AND 5,000 boxes of fresh produce, chicken and lunch box snacks on Saturday, August 3rd!

DeKalb County and its partners will distribute:

— 3,000 clear bookbags filled with a pack of 12 pencils, a pack of 12 pens, a ruler, a pack of 24 crayons, a composition notebook, a three-subject notebook, notebook filler paper, a pack of three erasers, a flash drive and a calculator.

— 5,000 boxes of Georgia-grown fruits and vegetables, eggs, and chicken hindquarters.

— Lunch box snacks.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, beginning at 9 a.m., the school supplies and food distributions will be held at the following locations:
