Georgia Pre-K Week 2019 is one week away! All throughout the week, the Y will join the state in celebrating Georgia’s nationally recognized Pre-K Program which has educated approximately 1.6 million of Georgia’s youth since it began in 1992. The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) recently hosted their quarterly conference to discuss their homelessness and foster care enrollment initiative, aimed at increasing homeless enrollment in Head Start programs nationwide. We're excited for what's coming next!

Last Friday we celebrated the end of the Summer Transition Program and our last parent activity with our families. We had food, music and enjoyed watching our families celebrate the success of their children.
For the last 6 weeks, our children continued to learn in a safe, welcoming and bilingual environment that not only supported their English language development but actively promoted their Home language in the classroom. Our parent engagement efforts included sessions on Safety Around Water, our parent curriculum (ReadyRosie), STEAM, a CPR certification class and best practices for engaging DLL students. This is our third year and every year it gets better and better!
