Join us on August 31 at 12:30 p.m. for a special campus talk with actress, writer, producer and filmmaker Carra Patterson!

A Georgia State University and NYU Tisch graduate, Carra has built an impressive career across film, television, theater and filmmaking. Her credits include CBS’s "Elsbeth," Netflix’s "Rustin," where she portrayed Coretta Scott King, and "Lovecraft Country," where she played Josephine Baker. She also made her Broadway debut in August Wilson’s Tony Award-winning "Jitney" and made her filmmaking debut with "HOMEbirth," which premiered at the American Black Film Festival.

Carra’s work centers nuanced stories about Black women, motherhood, healing, and community and we’re excited to welcome her back to campus to share her experiences and insights with the next generation of storytellers.
