Marine Biology students took their learning beyond the classroom to explore the University of Georgia's Marine Extension Service on Skidaway Island! From studying oyster physiology and plankton content to surveying biodiversity in the salt marsh, they gained hands-on experience in marine ecology. Students also ventured to Wassaw Island, a barrier island and wildlife refuge, to study beach ecosystems.

Congratulations to Tori McMillan, Cate Turner, and Carter Rumph for being named Atlanta’s Student Visionaries of the Year! Their team, which included 22 additional Lovett students, raised over $283,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, competing against 37 teams. We are proud of their dedication to making an impact on cancer patients and their families through advocacy, research funding, and support.

Our budding scientists have been learning about the process of seed germination in Mr. Lambert's class! Over the next few weeks, they will collect data as they observe the growth of their plants.

Our Middle School students had the opportunity to experience Asian culture today through dynamic performances! They enjoyed Tinikling, a traditional Filipino dance presented by the Georgia Tech Filipino Student Association, as well as the Fan Dance and Ribbon Dance performed by the Atlanta Chinese Dance Company. To conclude the event, students and staff had the chance to join in and learn the dances themselves!

From Japan to Italy to France, our students expanded their global engagement by embracing new traditions, exploring historic landmarks, and making unforgettable memories with classmates on their Lovett Spring Break trips! These experiences not only broadened their perspectives but deepened their appreciation for the various cultures around the world.

A Better Chance is excited to announce the recipient of the 2024 Southeast Placement Award. Our placement awards honor Member Schools in each region that place the most A Better Chance Scholars during the 2023-2024 placement cycle. We are proud to recognize The Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia, as the recipient of the 2024 Southeast Placement Award.

Dr. Myers' Intro to Psychology class identified the various parts and functions of the brain this morning by icing various areas of a brain-shaped cake made by Lovett's Dining Staff. At the end of class, students were able to enjoy a taste of their work!
