📣🦬 BISON NATION, ATLANTA!
THIS IS OUR MOMENT. 🦬📣
On Thursday, July 16 at 11:00 AM, we have a chance to show the world what Howard pride looks like.
Our own Ted White, Howard University alumnus, former Bison football player, and one of the driving forces behind HBCU athletics is taking center stage for the MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff Press Conference at Center Parc Stadium.
This isn’t just another press conference.
This is Howard University. 💙❤️
This is HBCU excellence. 💪🏾
This is one of our own. 🦬
Let’s be honest: a packed room sends a message. It tells sponsors, media, recruits, and the broader community that Howard alumni show up for Howard alumni. It demonstrates the strength of the Bison network and the power of our legacy.
Yes, it’s in the middle of the workday. ✅
Yes, you’ll need to plan ahead. ✅
Yes, it may require taking a few hours off. ✅
Do it anyway.
Some opportunities deserve more than a “like” or a repost. They deserve our presence.
Let’s fill the room with Howard alumni, students, family, friends, and supporters. Let’s make sure when the cameras pan the crowd, they see a sea of Bison pride.

Dear Bison Family,
Our alumni fuel Howard’s dominance in higher education – we are recognized nationally for social mobility and academic excellence.
But only 8% of Howard’s more than 100,000 alumni donated to the university last year. That’s substantially lower than our peers at other top HBCU’s. We can do better. This is your chance to give back to Howard with your gift today.
Please join your fellow Bison as we count down to the end of our fiscal year on June 30th. https://bit.ly/HUAnnualGiving
Donate now
Howard’s legacy was built by those who came before us – now it’s our responsibility to ensure its strength for those who will follow. Every contribution, large or small, ensures that Howard continues to create graduates who transform their own lives and become leaders of governments, movements, industries and communities worldwide. https://bit.ly/HUAnnualGiving
Make a difference by donating today! Every gift is counted toward our alumni participation rate and makes Howard stronger.
With gratitude,
Felicia Johnson
Director of Annual Giving
P.S. Time is running out to make your gift count for the 2025-2026 academic year and help boost our participation rate. Don’t delay – make your gift today.

Hi Bison Family,
My name is Antoine F. Smith, II, and I am a freshman Political Science major at Howard University. Though I currently live in Charleston, West Virginia, I was born and raised in Newnan, Georgia, and I currently serve as an HBCU Ambassador at Howard for the American Red Cross HBCU Ambassador Leadership Program for the 2026–2028 cohort.
As part of our onboarding conference in Atlanta, I am helping host a community blood drive on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This initiative is especially important because increasing Black blood donors helps improve outcomes for patients with sickle cell disease and others who benefit from closely matched blood transfusions. Black donors remain critically underrepresented, and one donation can truly make a life-saving difference within our community.
In the spirit of Howard’s motto, “Truth and Service,” I would greatly appreciate your support by donating, sharing this post, or encouraging others in the Atlanta community to participate.
