Are Economic Sanctions Still Effective?

American economic sanctions have been a major component of American Foreign Policy for decades. They have reflected not only its economic power, but also its moral force, when wielded to isolate despotic regimes. In a changing international universe, do America’s adversaries still fear the historic power of American sanctions?
