I am really humbled and blessed to be coaching at Maynard H. Jackson High School! I truly believe in my coaching ability, knowledge, work ethic, demeanor, experience, and PASSION. With over 20 successful years of NCAA Division I & II playing, collegiate and professional coaching experience, recruiting, university athletics administrative oversight, student-athlete development expertise, fundraisin

g, marketing, networking, leadership and communication skills, as well as strong academic commitment. In this basketball game called "LIFE", I personally and professionally know what it takes to build a successful basketball program, and develop student-athletes' careers on and off the court...academically, athletically, socially, and spiritually! I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN THESE PRINCIPLES! Academically, I will make sure MJHS student-athletes (players) get on the right track and stay on the right track by taking ownership of their academic and athletic futures. THE TIME IS NOW!!! Our student-athletes will graduate from MJHS and become productive young men in today’s challenging society by staying focused on and off the basketball court. It’s mandatory for our student-athletes to attend all classes, study hall, tutoring sessions and take advantage of MJHS first class educational opportunity sitting in front of them, and to never shortchange their academic and athletic futures. Athletically, I have coached at a very high level, and experienced winning conference championships with NCAA, NIT, & CIT tournament berths and looking forward to doing the same at MJHS. As the new Head Boys Basketball Coach, I have a committed and winning mentality to achieving academic, athletic, social, emotional, and spiritual success! as a basketball family! We will place a strong emphasis on our individual and team workouts, conditioning, and weight-lifting programs, as well as team work, team building, team chemistry, team meetings, functions, study hall, tutoring sessions, and community service initiatives and projects. Good character and self-discipline is a “MUST” in our program, while student-athletes develop into well-rounded young adults and beyond. Our goal is to compete for the GHSA Region 6-AAAAA and State Championships on an annual basis! However, parental involvement, participation and community support are much needed and will be a “PRIORITY” in our program at MJHS. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW!!! "I will never ask my student-athletes (players) to do anything that I have not done academically, athletically, socially, and spiritually",

✅ Open to Boys & Girls Ages 6-15.

A five day camp that will focus on the fundamentals of basketball through station work and competition, with a strong emphasis on shooting, ball-handling, and individual offensive/defensive skills. The camp will stress the importance of fundamentals, smart decision-making and hard work while having FUN along the way. Campers will be divided by age and skill level to ensure that each camper has a meaningful experience. All campers will receive one-on-one coaching from MJHS basketball staff, players, and other coaching colleagues. Campers will enjoy academic insights and guest speakers as well.

We really appreciate the Atlanta Board of Education & Superintendent Meria Carstarphen for recognizing our Maynard H. Jackson High School Boys Basketball Program’s, especially our academic, athletic, and community service efforts!

We accomplished so many great things with hard work, team effort, strong desire, and commitment to each other on and off the basketball court during the 2017-18 season and just so honored, thankful, humbled, and blessed to receive this recognition.

As a token of our appreciation, we gave the Superintendent & the Atlanta Board of Education a custom, signed basketball from the entire team!

Very grateful & honored to coach in the “First Annual APS vs. Clayton County All Star Classic Senior Game” yesterday at Riverdale High School featuring the very best juniors and seniors in both districts (boys & girls)!

We won in overtime 87-84 in a very hard fought game...great collaboration between Atlanta & Clayton County Public Schools
allowing these student-athletes to showcase their skills in a first class event & game atmosphere with college coaches in attendance.

WOW! WHAT A GREAT RUN THIS SEASON...

We really appreciate all the love & support from the bottom of our hearts!

We came up short last night 58-55 vs. in the GHSA STATE TOURNAMENT PLAYOFF “Sweet 16” Game vs. a very good Clarke-Central HS team.

What a history-making 2017-18 season for our Maynard H. Jackson High School Boys Basketball Program...the future looks very bright...

I am very proud of these guys for starting our journey six months ago in August, 2017 & getting to this historical moment in the MJHS Boys Basketball Program!

Although, we didn’t accomplish all of our team goals for the 2017-18 season...

I am just so thankful & blessed for what we did accomplish...

*Won Region 6 - Class 5A Regular Season & Tournament Championship

*Top 10 Ranking Class 5A

We advanced to the 2nd Round of the GHSA STATE TOURNAMENT PLAYOFFS “SWEET 16” & really need you to come out and support your Maynard Jackson HS Boys Basketball Program!

We will host Clarke Central HS out of Athens, GA tomorrow on Thursday, February 22nd @ Maynard H. Jackson HS at 7pm!

Doors will open 5:30 pm..so get there early!

We are expecting another sellout crowd!!!
