11:15 to 1:15 and not a single “I’m bored.” 🙌

Our Little Senses Big Play sensory play pop up at Pittsburgh Yards was such a fun morning. So many busy hands, creative minds, and kids who stayed completely engaged.

Black folk have to deal with our stress and teach our kids to deal with it before it deal with us.

Far too often, we say fillers like “I’m good” when the village asks how we are doing?. Unfortunately, our kids are learning this chronic coping mechanism and they also learn the art of performance based wellness.

Right now for Black youth, we are at an all time high for 36% of Black youth committing su***de and 1:4 have an undiagnosed mental health disorder.

This week, for the Bebe Moore Cambelle National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, we are digging in, as we prep for back to school, to start with our wellness before we fill the book bags. Let’s unpack what’s happening on the inside of us as we buy the new clothes for them to wear on the outside.

But first, us parents have to unpack our bags too.
