I gave myself a full day of silence at a retreat — no phone, no schedule, just space to pause.
Pause can be an uneasy habit for many of us. I believe we need real understanding and compassion for the space it takes — for ourselves, and for each other.
So much of work and life pushes the grind: quick fixes, instant responses, more, faster, now — and underneath it, burnout, dissatisfaction, even the quiet tension exhaustion can leave between people. Pause is often the piece we lose in that whirlwind.
A minute. An hour. A day. A sabbatical. Even a pause from a role you’ve held for years. However long we need, I hope we all find the opportunity to take it.
And I want to say this gently — I know pause can feel like a luxury, especially for anyone facing financial hardship right now. This isn’t meant to overlook that. It’s meant to hold space for it, and hope rest becomes more possible for more of us, over time.
For the greater glory of God. 🤍
