The Montessori Event 2026 brought together some of the most passionate minds in education — and I am blessed I got to be in the room.

I had the honor of joining Leadership Day, co-presenting on Educator Burnout with Dr. Ashley, and being invited as a panelist for the Spotlight Session alongside Dr. Katie Keller — author of Alignment, a USA Today Best Seller and one of the Top 20.

We talked about the things that don’t always make it into the professional development room — the inner life of educators. The research on burnout. The systemic pressures. And how, even in the middle of the chaos, we can still find purpose and alignment.

It needed to be said. And the room received it.

More snippets coming next — stay tuned!!!

Excited to share that I’ve officially completed my Instructional Design certification!

I’ve been building courses and programs since 2016, and in 2021 I dove deeper into creating online learning experiences—especially using Articulate. Much of what I’ve built over the years has been self-taught and shaped through hands-on experience and workshops.

Completing this certification has helped me strengthen that practical experience with a solid understanding of instructional design foundations, learning theories, and how learners truly learn. I’m grateful for the journey so far and excited to continue creating meaningful, effective learning experiences.

Baby Jesus 🙏🥹 My little girl’s gift for her classmates. She painted the white part and assembled the tiny boxes. ❤️

FB asked for a “then and now,” but I don’t have a “now.” 💔
Happy 40th birthday in heaven, Khyle. Can you believe you’re officially old too? Last time we saw each other you were teasing me for being an “old lady,” so look at us now — both old. 😅

We miss you so much. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions for all of us here on earth, but I know you wouldn’t want that for us. We’re trying… I promise.

Late 2023 and all of 2024 brought me to some of my lowest points, but they also revealed the real people in my life — personally and professionally. And on this first Sunday of Advent, as we’re reminded of HOPE, I’m learning to embrace it… to continue the joy you brought into this world, even through the heaviness of grief.

Thank you for being such a beautiful example of love, joy, and hope. Always. ❤️

To anyone out there going through grief — my DMs are open if you need an extra prayer. And to those supporting or witnessing someone who’s grieving: it hits everyone differently. I wish I had one perfect guide on how to help, but all I can hope for is that we each take a moment to pause, reflect, and choose compassion. 🙏

Today, I earned my certification as a Growing the Brain Trainer—focused on how the brain develops and processes information. Understanding brain development is a critical part of understanding how children learn, behave, and engage with the world around them.

Our work as educators and leaders goes beyond the classroom—it’s about creating healthy, trusting relationships with families and building a school culture where both children and adults can thrive.

I’m also enrolled in an Instructional Design certification program—because knowing how the brain works is only part of the equation. Creating courses and curricula that learners can truly adapt to requires translating that knowledge into thoughtful, well-structured design.

Balanced professional growth means going beyond academic subjects and intentionally exploring the areas that shape how we teach, how learners thrive, and how we partner with families. Some powerful areas to explore include:

* How to truly observe children – developing skills in informal and formal observation
* Social-emotional learning (SEL) courses
* Neuroscience of learning
* Supporting executive function
* Developing routines and work habits for learners
* Positive Discipline
* Trauma-informed strategies
* Parent communication and partnership
* Building genuine connections: school culture
* Burnout prevention and recovery
…and so much more.

Because knowledge transfer is not the same as true learning.

And when we design with the learner’s mind and heart in mind, we create education that sticks, shapes, and inspires.
