How to Get Your Team on Board with a Major Change 09/07/2022

How to Get Your Team on Board with a Major Change Most change management has shifted from a simplistic, top-down, “create a vision, change the structure, roll out the new program, and get buy-in” approach to more emergent, empowered, and purpose-led approaches. But leading big, complex change is still a struggle — the rate of failure for tran...

This is your sign to do the hard thing.

Get uncomfortable.

Ask for the promotion.

Show you deserve the raise.

Have the hard conversation.

Your success is on the other side of your fear and discomfort.

We need to talk about "quiet quitting".

Social media outlets like TikTok and Instagram have introduced this term to us so what is it? Why should we be concerned?

Quiet quitting isn't exactly resigning from your job immediately. Rather, it's mentally checking out or doing the bare minimum just to get by. No more going above and beyond at work, staying late, or taking on more responsibilities without more pay. It's this generation's rally for better work-life balance and honestly, I'm here for it.

While this has a negative and passive-aggressive connotation, if organizations are paying attention, this could be the catalyst for the change that they need. Employers need to stop overworking employees, demanding more work, not more pay and calling it "teamwork". This is NOT fair to employees.

So is this really "quiet quitting" or is it just being rational about your workload, boundaries and self-preservation?

Let's chat in the comments.

"Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Church" with Glen Guyton--Called to be Bad Podcast Ep. 27 08/23/2022

Now I'm a proud Christian and I found this so interesting--the intersection of DEI and the Church.

Glen Guyton is the first Black church leader for the Mennonite Church, which is very interesting. But this whole conversation got me thinking...

Watch and let's discuss.

"Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Church" with Glen Guyton--Called to be Bad Podcast Ep. 27 “You know as a church we need to be where the action is…we need to be out in the community, we need to be on the internet, we need to start thinking of churc...

Back to school: Berkeley's 'diversity vow' a depressing token of woke academia 08/22/2022

Berkeley has vowed to do better with diversity--starting with who they hire. In fact, "applicants must write a short essay about how much they support the controversial diversity, equity, and inclusion philosophy — actually a personal "vow" of one's enthusiasm for the tenets of critical race theory."

But this isn't being well received (shocker).

What are your thoughts on this article and how they're going about trying to achieve diversity?

Back to school: Berkeley's 'diversity vow' a depressing token of woke academia Imagine applying to a job and, as part of your application, having to write a B.S. college essay about diversity for the HR department.

Remember to celebrate milestones as you prepare for the road ahead.
~Nelson Mandela

How many goals have you set that you haven't celebrated once they've been achieved?

Let's stop doing that. Seriously.

Give yourself the flowers you deserve now. Give yourself the reward. Don't wait for someone else's acknowledgment before you celebrate your own excellence.

Drop some of your recent successes so we can celebrate you too!
