They moved from out of state over the summer.

Faith Academy pulled her records in two weeks. By the second Monday of August, she had her assignments, a clear path forward, and the support she needed to begin working toward graduation.

Transitions are part of the territory here.

Students come from public schools, private schools, homeschool, military moves, family disruptions, and all kinds of non-traditional circumstances.

Faith Academy’s flexible format makes it easier to land. Students come to campus each week to pick up assignments, submit completed work, and connect with faculty. Then they complete their coursework at home, at their own pace.

He's a senior. He's preaching at a small church in Henry County on Sundays. He's earning his diploma at Faith Academy on Mondays.

She's in a conservatory program in Atlanta - three afternoons a week, two Saturdays a month. A traditional school couldn't make that work. Faith Academy could.

She comes to campus one day a week to pick up her week's work. She does her English, her history, her math - at home, in the car between rehearsals, at the kitchen table after dinner. Her music teacher at the conservatory said she was the most disciplined student he'd taught in five years.

Three schools. Three different reasons.

The traditional system said he was a behavior problem. A different school said he was behind. The third said he wasn't college material.

His mom brought him to Faith Academy the August before his junior year. He came to campus once a week to pick up his week's work and check in with teachers. His teachers knew his name by the second visit. He got caught up on two credits he'd lost. He's a senior now. He'll graduate in May.

Three schools said he wouldn't make it. In May, he walks across the stage.

Her family has homeschooled her since kindergarten.

They didn’t leave homeschooling because it wasn’t working. They chose it because it was the right fit for their family.

Now she’s a sophomore, and she needs to add a few credits to her academic plan.

He works the closing shift at a hardware store in Loganville three nights a week.

He saves for a truck.

He'll start his senior classes in August and graduate in May.

Jacquelyn Griggs started Faith Academy in 1987 because there were students the traditional system had given up on.

She didn't build it to be the biggest school in Georgia.

She built it to be the one that still wanted them.

Thirty-eight years later, Faith Academy is still doing that. Two campuses - Stockbridge and Loganville. Students come to campus once a week to pick up their week's work and check in with teachers, then complete coursework at home at their own pace.

Accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission. Graduates eligible for the HOPE Scholarship when they meet the requirements.
